Overview:

Responsibilities:

The Director of Contracts and Marketing reports to the VP of Contracts & Marketing and leads global commercial activities for key clients. Responsibilities include identifying opportunities, understanding market dynamics, nurturing client relationships, and overseeing team development. The Director of Contracts and Marketing also plays a crucial role in negotiation strategies and dispute resolution.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

The Director – Contracts and Marketing may:

  • Identify business opportunities and formulate prospect strategies.
  • Understand and provide insight on the offshore rig market, including market trends, client, and supplier activity.
  • Develop positive relationships with client, industry, and procurement leaders.
  • Document and understand the client's evaluation/buying process.
  • Sponsor office meetings, rig visits, and other opportunities for client-Diamond interaction.
  • Develop and implement stakeholder influencing plan.
  • Estimate opportunity economics, including margin and NPV.
  • Implement negotiation plan to pursue business opportunities.
  • Resolve disputes with client and monitor resolution.
  • Conduct overall lessons learned review of the contract within Diamond.
  • Assist in the development of other team members within Contracts & Marketing.
  • Update and maintain client relationship management system.
  • Develop and maintain a working inventory of unmet needs throughout the commercialization process.
  • Participate fully in all Health, Safety, and Environmental initiatives and safety programs.
  • Follow Diamond Offshore Global Excellence Management System (G.E.M.S.)
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Basic

  • Detailed knowledge of marketing and commercial activities with relevant training and experience in commercial negotiations.
  • Extensive knowledge of the marketplace and competitors.
  • Proven track record in negotiating contracts and dispute resolution.
  • Must be computer literate with good marketing/business development skills and a sound knowledge of drilling rigs and their operations.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently to a high standard, both verbally and in writing, with employees, client's representatives, vendors and all other persons with whom contact is made as a senior representative of the Company.
  • Ability to make presentations, both internally and externally and to show a progressive attitude with a clear understanding of the strategic outlook of the Company.
  • Methodical with demonstrated high levels of organizational and planning skill with the ability to meet set deadlines.
  • Must be a good team leader and be able to communicate the strategic objectives of the Company with enthusiasm and energy
